Our Story
Tarana began as a simple idea from a Filipino-American who grew up fluent in English but always feeling a step removed from the language and traditions of his family.
The more he searched for ways to learn Filipino, the clearer it became: there wasn't a single app that captured what makes the language so special: its emotion, rhythm, and deep cultural meaning. So, Tarana was born - built to teach the why behind the words.
Tarana blends modern technology with authentic Filipino expression, creating lessons that feel less like school and more like a meaningful conversation.

About the Creator
Jeff, creator of Tarana, is a U.S.-based operator, entrepreneur, and angel investor with roots tied to the Philippines.
Living between Filipino and American cultures, Jeff saw how many second-generation Filipinos, and even non-Filipinos, struggled to learn the language in a way that truly resonated.

Does Tarana teach all Filipino languages?
Tarana teaches Filipino/Tagalog plus Cebuano, Ilocano, and Kapampangan. Additional languages are planned.
